The top iPhone app for checking traffic fines

Anh Vũ |

The VNeTraffic application, a tool to support looking up information on traffic fines, has quickly risen to the top position on the iPhone app store.

The Ministry of Public Security's VNeTraffic application with traffic violation lookup feature topped the list of most downloaded free applications on the App Store on January 2.

This strong growth occurred when Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, with regulations on administrative penalties for violations in the field of road traffic, officially took effect. This Decree increased the penalties for many traffic violations, increasing the need to check information about violations.

To use the application, users need to download and register an account by scanning their Citizen ID, entering their phone number to receive an OTP code and creating a password. In addition, the application is developing a login feature via the VNeID electronic identification account to increase convenience for users.

On the VNeTraffic platform, users can enter a vehicle license plate number to look up information about traffic violations, if any. The results include the type of violation, time, location, illustrative image, and processing status. This is a useful tool for people to update violation information in a transparent and quick manner.

The VNeTraffic application was actually put into testing about a year ago, but in just the last two days, the number of downloads has increased dramatically due to people's interest in the new regulations in Decree 168. This also poses a challenge in ensuring the system operates stably, meeting the increasing demand from users.
