According to The Verge, recently, two CEOs of major technology companies, Klarna and Zoom, have attracted attention when appearing in public through AI versions rather than directly.
At the announcement of business results in the first quarter of 2025, Klarna - a postpaid purchase service company - gave a 83 -second video with the image of "AI version" by the CEO and co -founder of Sebastian Siemiatkowski. In the video, the character opens with the sentence: "It's me, or rather my version of AI." The video description also clearly confirms this is the CEO version.
The use of artificial intelligence is no stranger to Klarna. Previously, Mr. Siemiatkowski shared with CNBC that the company has narrowed its staffing scale partly thanks to the promotion of AI applications. This is not the first time this CEO has used AI copies to share financial information of businesses.
Similarly, Zoom CEO Eric Yuan used his AI version at a meeting to announce Q1 2025 business results on May 21. In the video, his avatar said, Today, I am using a custom forum for Zoom Clips with AI Companion to share the financial report presentation. The upper right corner of the video reads created with Zoom AI Companion.
However, Eric Yuan still participated in the live Q&A session afterwards. In this session, he expressed his satisfaction: I really like my AI-powered avatar. I think we will continue to use this method. I really enjoyed that experience.
The above statement is not surprising as Mr. Yuan was the one who proposed the idea of using digital copies to replace humans in meetings.
The fact that leading technology CEOs have begun to use AI to represent themselves shows a new step forward in the way businesses operate and communicate. This is not just a technological statement but also reflects the mindset of being ready for AI to participate in leadership roles - something that was once considered irreplaceable.
This trend may continue to expand, especially in the context of AI being increasingly integrated into all areas of business.
