1. Refined sugar
Refined sugar is especially harmful to the liver. Foods such as candy, cookies, cakes, and sugary cereals increase blood sugar levels and lead to insulin resistance, a major cause of fatty liver.
2. Fried foods
crispy potatoes, fried chicken and French fries can be delicious, but they are high in unhealthy fats. This trans fats and saturated fat not only increase liver fat stores but also contribute to inflammation.
3. Salt
A pinch of salt may not be a problem, but most people consume much more than the recommended amount, often without realizing it. Too much sodium can lead to water retention, high blood pressure and put pressure on the liver.
4. Processed flour
White bread, pasta, pancakes and cakes can be the main foods in many diets, but they are made from refined flour, which acts very similar to sugar in the body. It is digested quickly, increases blood sugar levels and contributes to fat accumulation in the liver.
5. Red meat
Red meat, especially fatty meats such as ribs, Burgers and sausages, is high in saturated fat, which promotes fat accumulation in the liver. Research shows that consuming a lot of red meat is associated with an increased risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
6. Alcohol, beer
Alcohol makes fatty liver worse. Even moderate drinking can cause hepatitis and accelerate liver damage.
7. Sugary drinks
Sugary drinks such as soda, sugary fruit juice, energy drinks, and even flavored syrups are some of the harmful foods. They are rich in liquid sugar, easy to absorb, causing insulin spikes and fat accumulation in the liver.
8. Refined grains
Stay away from refined grains like white rice, white bread and regular pasta. Like sugary drinks, they quickly break down into glucose and are stored as fat in the liver.
