The video of this spectacular hunt was filmed by Tarryn Rae at the Pilanesberg wildlife Reserve (Northwest province, South Africa).
At that time, a herd of cow-headed elephants was moving without knowing that they would fall into the ambush of the herd of lions in front. When a lion suddenly appeared, the herd of cow-headed elephants panicked and ran away while the other one ran back.
This black-headed cowling is immediately chased by a herd of 8 lions. A country lion was preyed by a female lion and immediately other lions rushed forward to take the share.
The male goose tried its best to escape several times but failed and became a delicious prey for carnivores.
According to Tarryn - who was a local tour guide at the reserve for nearly 5 years - the female goose made a serious mistake when it ran towards the lions and had to pay the price with its life. The entire chase of the lions until they defeated their prey lasted about 3 minutes.
