Billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao's assets - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vietjet Air increased sharply to 4.4 billion USD, helping her increase by 50 places on the world billionaire rankings.

The assets of billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vietjet Air, continued to increase sharply in just 2 days, from 4.2 billion USD to 4.4 billion USD, equivalent to an increase of 5.03% according to Forbes' ranking of the richest people on the planet.

As of November 20, billionaire Phuong Thao is ranked 907, up 50 places in the list of world billionaires. Compared to January 4, 2025, her assets have increased from 2.8 billion USD to 4.4 billion USD, equivalent to an increase of 1.6 billion USD in just over 11 months.

On November 20, the domestic stock market recorded VJC (Vietjet Air) stock price at 176.4 thousand VND/share. Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao currently holds more than 202.4 million VJC shares, including 47.47 million shares held directly (equivalent to 8.76% of capital) and nearly 155 million shares through Huong Duong Sunny Investment Company Limited (equivalent to 28.6% of capital). With the price of the session on November 18, this stock is estimated to be worth about VND35,703 billion.

In addition, the price of HDBank's HDB stock code on November 20 was listed at 31,800 VND/share. Currently, Ms. Thao owns 107.661 million HDB shares, equivalent to 3.7% of charter capital, with a market value of about VND 3,423 billion.

According to Forbes' ranking, Vietnam has 5 billionaires, including: Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vingroup with total assets of 21 billion USD; Mr. Tran Dinh Long (Hoa Phat) with net assets of 2.7 billion USD; Mr. Ho Hung Anh (Techcombank), assets of up to 2.3 billion USD; Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang (Masan Group) with assets of 1.1 billion USD.

In 2017, Ms. Thao became the first self-made female billionaire in Southeast Asia to be honored by Forbes. In 2019, she continued to be on the list of 25 most powerful women in Asia, and was described as "Vietnam's first self-made female billionaire and Southeast Asia's richest". At that time, her assets reached 2.5 billion USD
