Supporting the restoration of the traditional Do paper making profession of the Red Dao people

In Tan Xa Phin village, Nam Dich commune, Tuyen Quang, a program to support the restoration and promotion of the traditional Do paper making profession of the Red Dao people took place.

The program is organized by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnic Culture in coordination with the Nam Dich commune government, aiming to contribute to preserving the traditional handicrafts of the Red Dao people and spreading national cultural values in modern life.

The highlight of the program is the participation of 5 artisans and 45 students who are Red Dao people in Nam Dich commune. Among them are 20 students of Nam Ty Primary and Secondary School, contributing to creating a connection between generations in the journey of preserving traditional crafts.

The activity is within the framework of the National Target Program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2025 - 2026 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Through vocational training, the program aims to preserve folk knowledge, promote the role of artisans and raise awareness of preserving cultural identity in the community.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Canh Phuong - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnic Culture - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized the meaning of bringing traditional cultural values closer to contemporary life.

Representing the locality, Mr. Trieu Tien Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Dich commune acknowledged the museum's contributions to the work of preserving national culture, and affirmed that it will create favorable conditions for the teaching class to achieve effectiveness.

After the program, the class started the first contents, opening a journey to continue and preserve the traditional Do paper making profession of the Red Dao people in the locality.
