Since the beginning of 2025, the tourism industry has continuously received good news as the number of international visitors continues to grow strongly. Vietnam welcomed 1.9 million international visitors in February 2025. In the first two months of 2025, nearly 4 million international visitors toured Vietnam, an increase of 30.2% over the same period last year.
One of the impacts is that the Government has exempted visas for key markets, contributing to attracting international tourists to Vietnam.
Previously, Resolution 11/NQ-CP on short-term visa exemption for Polish, Czech and Swiss citizens from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 under the 2025 Tourism Development stimulus Program was expected to create more momentum to attract more visitors from these three European markets in 2025.
On March 5, 2025, chairing the regular Government meeting in February 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Ministry of Public Security; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to study appropriate visa policies, especially for traditional friends, diversifying visa exemptions for some countries and billionaires in the world.
In 2025, the tourism industry aims to welcome 22-23 million international tourists; serve 120-130 million domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourists reached about 980 - 1,050 trillion VND.
