According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, during the 3 days of New Year holiday 2026 (from December 31, 2025 to January 2, 2026), Ha Long Bay welcomed more than 36,000 visitors.
On the first day of the new year, January 1, 2006, Ha Long Bay welcomed 12,113 visitors (an increase of 32.47% compared to the same period in 2025), including 10,467 international visitors, with a total of 439 ships departing. Revenue reached over 3.6 billion VND.
The attractions on Ha Long Bay chosen by tourists during this occasion are still Sung Sot cave, Luon cave, Me Cung cave, and Ti Top island.

During the 3-day holiday of the 2025 New Year, many other key tourist destinations in Quang Ninh also recorded increased visitors. Specifically, Sun World Ha Long welcomed about 11,000 visitors; Quang Ninh Museum welcomed about 3,800 visitors.
On the cultural - spiritual tourist route, Yen Tu Scenic Landscape Complex welcomes about 6,600 visitors in 3 days of stay.
In general, for the 3 days of New Year holiday 2026, Quang Ninh province welcomed about 530,000 visitors, including 44,400 international visitors and 458,600 domestic visitors; accommodation visitors are estimated at about 158,000 visitors; total tourism revenue is estimated at 1,277 billion VND.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Director of Con Duong Viet Travel Company - said that for the 2025 New Year holiday, because the holiday only takes place in one day, the number of visitors to Quang Ninh is only about 73,000. Most tourists return within the day, the stay time is short, and the spending level is limited.
Meanwhile, the 4-day New Year holiday 2026 has created conditions for tourists to proactively plan their travel, increase accommodation time, expand experiential space and increase spending on tourism services.
The long break time helps visitor flows to be evenly distributed between Ha Long Bay, entertainment areas and cultural and spiritual spots, thereby contributing to ensuring security and order, the tourism environment and improving service quality right from the first days of the year.
