At the program "Perfect Mix", singer Duy Zuno shared with People's Artist Hong Van: "Since I was a child, my mother guided me to study culture, and I dreamed of studying music. When entering high school, my mother started to put pressure on me, wanting me to choose a major that could ensure a stable job and good income. At that time, information technology was a hot industry, so I chose to study this industry just to reassure my mother. But because it was not a real passion, I could not stay long - after studying for two years, I decided to stop".
Before Duy Zuno became a singer, Ms. Huyen Anh - the singer's mother - imagined that Duy Zuno would become a lawyer, doctor or pursue a stable career. Although she knew her son was passionate about singing, she still considered it a temporary hobby, not a serious career path that Duy Zuno would stick with for a long time.
In his first years of attending university in information technology, Duy Zuno asked his mother for money to pay for tuition and living expenses. Until he found a job as a coffee maker and acoustic performer, he did not ask his mother for money anymore. Since then, he also dropped out of high school to major in information technology. When she learned that her son had dropped out of school, Huyen Anh's mother reacted but was not too harsh, because she had felt that before.
Talking to psychologist Ly Thi Mai, Ms. Huyen Anh said: "At first, I didn't know my child had dropped out of school. It was not until I became known to many people that I realized it. Seeing the true passion in my child, I had to put aside my original expectations and choose to support him".
A while later, Duy Zuno applied to work at a recording studio. Here, he had the opportunity to meet musician Vo Hoai Phuc. In 2018, musician Vo Hoai Phuc gave him the songen yeu. The song was later released and was fortunate to receive a wide audience acceptance
Duy Zuno suddenly heard his own song being played on a bus, but the driver did not recognize him as sitting behind him. Returning home after that moment, Duy Zuno decided to change himself, invest in appearance and singing to appear more and increase recognition. He lost weight from 85 kg to 65 kg at that time.
While working at the studio, Duy Zuno was lucky to be accepted by singer Phi Nhung as his younger brother. Every time she performs, she takes him with her. Although singer Phi Nhung is no longer in the world, the loyal audience of the late singer still loves Duy Zuno and gives him many valuable opportunities.
Since childhood, Duy Zuno has been a good, well-educated child, not only outstanding in his studies, he has also won many artistic awards at all levels. Currently, his income from art is enough for him to take care of his mother. "My mother sings very well, in the past I often asked her to film a singing clip but she refused. But now, I post a lot of singing clips because I really like them, singer Duy Zuno shared. In the past two years, Huyen Anh's mother has been a regular companion with her son on various singing routes.
Psychologist Ly Thi Mai commented: When talking to Huyen Anhs mother, we found the key to making life expectations natural and no longer abstract. In the early stages, the mother expected her child to become an engineer and doctor - stable jobs. In the second phase, Huyen Anh's mother expressed her joy that her son had a stable job and pursued his passion seriously. Initial expectations are gradually transformed into greater hopes, associated with children's dreams - that dream helps mothers start to put faith in".
