The love story of a couple was shared on the program "Shinkon-san Irasshai!" (Welcome to the Newlyweds) has just caused a stir in Japan.
The couple Isamu Tomioka (32) and Midori Tomioka (53) live in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The wife is 21 years older than her husband. She has a grandchild and is the mother of her husband's classmate.
They first met at a festival at school. After more than 10 years of meeting again, the guy fell in love with his friend's mother at first sight.
Through Midori's daughter, Isamu was invited by his wife to have dinner. During the meal, he frankly said: "I have loved you at first sight. date me!". This incredible confession was rejected by his wife.

However, in the next month, Isamu continuously invited his wife to visit places she loved, in which they visited light shows up to 40 times. After the divorce and many ups and downs, she gradually touched the sincerity of the young man.
At her 30th date, Isamu confessed her feelings but she continued to refuse, due to concerns about her daughter's thoughts and social prejudices. After receiving support from her child, Midori agreed to date.
The couple faced the next difficulty in convincing Midori's parents. Midori's family strongly opposed him no matter how he explained, but Isamu's parents accepted. However, the two still persistently overcame it, finally getting married in July 2024. They received approval from their families and received touching letters.
