At the program Vo Chong Son, MC Hong Van and Quoc Thuan chatted with Thai Duong Hung (52 years old, English teacher) and his wife Mai Thi Ai Tinh (41 years old, housewife). The couple has a 16-year-old son.
According to the sharing, Duong Hung unfortunately suffered from a paralyzed fever since he was 1 year old, causing both legs to become crooked. Therefore, he was hesitant to move at the time of meeting his wife. Recalling the fate of meeting Ai Tinh, Duong Hung told him that he met a sister from Binh Thuan (now Lam Dong) and was introduced to his niece by this person. When they met, the niece invited her classmate Ai Tinh. And in that meeting, Duong Hung had feelings for Ai Tinh, instead of the other person. Meanwhile, Ai Tinh at that time completely did not know that Duong Hung was paying attention to him, simply seeing him looking scholarly and handsome.
Knowing that Ai Tinh had a hair shop, Duong Hung often asked someone to take him to the shop many times to get acquainted. Gradually, the two developed feelings for each other, and he boldly went to his girlfriend's house to visit her family.
The first time they met, he realized that Ai Tinh's grandmother and mother did not agree, worried that she would suffer. Her father did not say anything.
In response to concerns from the bride's family, Duong Hung convinced them with sincerity: "If people are healthy, they work with their hands and feet, but if they are not healthy, they work with their minds. The proof is that I can still support myself with the job of teaching, and later take care of my small family".
After nearly 3 years of dating, Duong Hung and Ai Tinh officially became husband and wife in a collective wedding with 69 other couples. Duong Hung expressed that he felt lucky to have met his wife.
But not long after the happy couple was together, the storm came. When her first child was only 11 months old, Ai Tinh suddenly became ill and had to be hospitalized. She was diagnosed with melon overflow, her health declined significantly, and she could not continue working.
At that time, the young child had to be taken care of by his grandmother and neighbors. Ai Tinh was alone in the hospital, while her husband had to go to school to make a living. However, during her more than 2 months in the hospital, Duong Hung still drove three wheels every week for more than 100 km to visit his wife. Those trips are both his heart and the love he has for his partner.
After nearly 20 years of living together, their lives could not help but have collisions. Ai Tinh shared that her husband has a habit of eating areca nuts when hungry, and is upset when seeing the house not neat. In return, she said that Duong Hung is very sweet, thoughtful, and often shows affection for his wife.
As for Duong Hung, he shared that his wife often grumbles, rarely thinks about herself, or refuses her husband's gifts.
