On the morning of June 7, nearly 103,000 grade 9 students in Hanoi officially entered the race for tickets to public high schools. The first subject is Literature.
According to the new program, for the first time, the exam will not use data in textbooks, students can no longer predict the exam or study in a safe.
In front of school gates, many parents sit waiting for their children to complete the 120-minute Literature exam.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong (42 years old, Dong Anh) traveled a long distance to take her child to take the 10th grade entrance exam.
She confided: "This year, Literature has changed a lot compared to previous years, so all night, the whole family struggled to sleep. Today I arrived at school early, but the closer it was to the exam, the more nervous and worried I was.
Before the important exam, my child was under a lot of pressure, 2-3 weeks ago he showed signs of stress, and took some tests that were not in accordance with his ability. From a parent's perspective, I can only encourage my child to be confident and try my best. Because at that time, there were no regrets. Otherwise, for me, the most important thing is still the health of the children, always striving to do my best".
Ms. Thu Phuong assessed that the Literature exam in the new exam method will be a difficult challenge for the children of 2k10 (the 10th grade autopsy doctor born in 2010). This is a different way of asking questions from the traditional way of learning Literature.
From Dong Anh, despite the long distance, Ms. Thu Phuong still supports her child to register for the specialized school exam in Hanoi's inner city. She said, as long as her child sets a goal and wishes to study at a specialized school, she and her husband will always try to create conditions for him.

Meanwhile, a parent about to retire also shared the same nervous feeling when her child did a test in the exam room. In front of the gate of Tran Duy Hung Secondary School, the parent looked forward to the classroom row.
"Although the entrance exam to high school is very important, it is just a milestone, not a final destination. Even in cases where wishes are not achieved, children still need to regain their spirit to continue. The road ahead is still very long, it is impossible to let go of the future due to a stumble or a temporary disadvantage.
I do not force my ability too much but only encourage my child to strengthen and rise a little. I understand that the generations of mother and child are very distant, so there are many differences. I often put myself in today's society to recognize the problem, thereby being able to accompany my children," the mother confided about her only child's studies.

Not only parents, the figure of grandparents is also bayant under the trees. Mr. Nguyen Tien Loc (born in 1957) sat waiting for his grandchild to take the 10th grade entrance exam in an excited spirit.
"I want you to take me to the exam because your parents are too busy. She said she wanted to go with him and was taken by him on a motorbike. The two of them loved each other very much and were close like two friends. With this competition, I keep a relaxed spirit to accompany my grandchild. This is a memorable experience in my child's learning journey," Mr. Loc expressed.
When leaving the exam room, many students also expressed surprise because the exam had many new points, the luan questions were quite "hot". Parents asked, only when their children nodded and said that they could do the homework would they feel secure and relieved.
