According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. BS Bui Thi Nhung (Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Nutrition Association, Head of the Nutrition Department of Sun Hospital), the body has a natural detoxification mechanism.
Instead of resorting to "liver detoxification" methods advertised online, people should build a scientific diet to help the liver function effectively.
1. Maintain a balanced diet according to the proportion of substance groups
According to experts, the diet should ensure the ratio of groups of substances as recommended. In which, protein accounts for about 13 - 20% of total energy, fat about 20 - 25% and carbohydrates about 50 - 65%.
In addition, each meal needs to supplement enough vitamins and minerals. Maintaining a balanced diet will help the liver perform its metabolic function well, limit overload and contribute to protecting long-term health.
2. Refer to the nutrient pyramid
Assoc. Prof. Dr. BS Bui Thi Nhung encourages people to refer to the nutrition pyramid issued by the Ministry of Health to choose the amount of food suitable for each age group.
Nutrition Tower specifically guides the diet of each food group, helping to build a balanced diet and meet daily nutritional needs. This is a simple way to maintain a scientific diet and protect long-term health.
3. Prioritize fresh food and drink enough water
People should increase green vegetables, fruits, cereals and fresh foods in their daily meals to supplement vitamins, minerals and fiber, contributing to maintaining a healthy digestive system.
Drinking enough water helps maintain the body's metabolic activities, while supporting excretory function, thereby reducing the burden on the liver.
4. Combine nutrition with a healthy lifestyle
Besides nutrition, maintaining a reasonable weight also contributes to protecting liver function. People should combine scientific eating with regular exercise, getting enough sleep and limiting alcohol.
A healthy lifestyle will help reduce the metabolic burden, thereby supporting stable and long-term liver function.
