From August 2026, a series of education policies take effect, in which 11 documents in the field of education are officially abolished from August 7, 2026.

The Ministry of Education and Training has issued Circular 47/2026/TT-BGDĐT abolishing legal normative documents in education.

According to the circular, 11 documents were completely abolished, related to many contents such as physical education, school health, traffic safety education, pedagogical professional development, organization of activities of private and semi-public kindergartens, professional title training for teaching staff and inspection in the field of education.

Schools recognize each other's credits when conducting articulation training

Circular 52/2026/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating the articulation between vocational high schools, intermediate schools, colleges and universities takes effect from August 15, 2026, replacing the old regulations on vocational education articulation.

According to the circular, educational institutions are allowed to sign agreements to recognize each other in terms of credits as well as academic results, modules, subjects, modules or higher education certificates when continuing education is provided on the basis of ensuring output standards, training quality and accountability.

Mutual recognition must be carried out on the basis of authenticated learning data, ensuring completeness, accuracy, traceability and information sharing between educational institutions in accordance with the law; relevant records and data must be stored and publicly disclosed in accordance with regulations and ready to serve inspection, examination, quality accreditation and post-inspection of competent authorities.

Private schools are not allowed to teach the primary school curriculum in advance

The Ministry of Education and Training has issued Circular No. 48/2026/TT-BGDDT, stipulating that non-planned education activities in the primary school level must ensure voluntariness, have the consent of parents, not pre-teach the general education program, and not cause pressure or overload for students. The Circular takes effect from August 8, 2026.

The new Circular inherits and allows private general schools to organize educational activities outside the school year schedule but not more than 4 weeks in a school year and does not charge tuition fees for this additional study time.

One of the highlights is the Circular supplementing separate regulations for primary school level. Accordingly, this activity at the primary school level must ensure voluntariness, have the consent of parents, not pre-teach the general education program and not cause pressure or overload for students.

Thus, from August 8, 2026, private schools are not allowed to organize teaching in advance of the education program of the next school year for primary school level.
