On September 11, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong presented the decision to appoint the position of Director of the Hanoi Cheo Theater to People's Artist Thu Huyen.
Artist Thu Huyen was born in 1975, in Hanoi. She is the wife of People's Artist Tan Minh - Director of Thang Long Song and Dance Theater.
Thu Huyen grew up in a family with no one in the arts. She came to Cheo when she accidentally met musician Van Hiep of the Hanoi Cheo Theater while participating in the children's singing competition. Artist Van Hiep saw that Thu Huyen had qualities, so he gave her advice. She listened and was admitted to the Cheo intermediate school, and from then on, she became involved in this art form.
When mentioning Thu Huyen, the audience immediately remembers the role of Thi Mau in the classic Cheo play Quan Am Thi Kinh.
In 2017, she took on the position of Deputy Art Director of the Hanoi Cheo Theater. In August 2022, she was assigned to run the Hanoi Cheo Theater to replace People's Artist Quoc Anh who retired.
In addition to her successful career, Thu Huyen has a peaceful married life with her husband Tan Minh.
Tan Minh was born in 1972, known as a beautiful singer through famous lyrical songs associated with his name such as "First Love Letter", "Phoen Hong", "First Love", "I dare you to sleep"...
At the age of 16, Tan Minh took the entrance exam to the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music). He graduated from Vocal Music with an absolute score, and returned to work at the Thang Long Song and Dance Theater. In 2015, he became the Theater Director, replacing musician Trong Dai.
In 2023, Tan Minh was awarded the title of People's Artist.
Tan Minh and Thu Huyen got married in 2004, after 10 years of dating. The two are in harmony in their views on working and building a simple life, not showing off.
Thu Huyen once shared that although there were differences in personality when she was open, and her husband was calm and closed, they both understood each other and always resolved conflicts by talking frankly without arguing.
The couple believes that getting married to someone in the same profession is a blessing. Although busy with work, they understand the nature of each other's work when both are in the role of managers.
People's Artist Tan Minh is a person who does not often say romantic things but always knows how to give gifts to his wife on special occasions.
The couple has 2 sons, Minh Nam born in 2005 majored in International Business and Minh Khoi born in 2010.
