Let the bowls and plates dry completely before storing.
After washing, you should rinse the dishes and then place them on a shelf in a ventilated place for water to completely drain. Do not immediately put them in the cabinet when the bottom of the dishes, cups, or contact positions still contain water.
On days of continuous rain, you can use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the areas that are difficult to drain water before storing. For cups, glasses, or boxes with deep holes, they should be turned in a direction that helps water drain easily.
Do not stack bowls when they are still wet
The bowls are placed close together when there is still water, it will take longer to dry, especially in the contact part between the two items. This is also an easy position to retain moisture in rainy weather.
After washing, you should tilt each dish onto the shelf at an appropriate distance. The bowls can be folded sideways instead of folded close together to increase drainage. For chopsticks, spoons and food utensils, they should be placed in trays or open containers, avoid stuffing too many items at once.
Cleaning and drying upside-down sprouts
Top shelves, water holders, and the area under the dishes also need to be cleaned regularly. Water dripping down the tray but not poured and dried will keep this area always damp.
The family should pour water into the tray after each use, then wash and dry it periodically. If the shelf has gaps and corners that are difficult to clean, it is necessary to pay attention to cleaning this part because dirt and water can accumulate over time.
The cabinet or cupboard should also be dried before putting the bowls in. When the kitchen is cramped, you can open the cabinet door in the appropriate time or increase ventilation to limit moisture accumulation.
Change the dishcloth when it smells wet
Dish towels are easy to hold water and slow to dry on rainy days. If you continue to use a towel that already smells humid to wipe dishes, the smell and dirt may continue to stick to the surface of the item.
Towels should be washed after use, squeezed dry and dried in a ventilated place. Families can prepare many towels in turn, avoid using one towel continuously for many days. When the towels show unpleasant odors or signs of mold, they should be replaced.
Immediately handle bowls and plates with signs of mold
If bowls and plates are found to have abnormal spots, moldy odors, or are stored in a moldy area, do not continue to use them immediately. It is necessary to wash them thoroughly, dry them completely, and check them again before putting them into use.
For items with porous, cracked surfaces or many scratches that make mold and dirt difficult to clean completely, consider replacing them. At the same time, it is necessary to find and treat the source of moisture in the shelf, kitchen cabinet or surrounding area instead of just cleaning dishes separately.
