At the beginning of the program, MC Dinh Toan suggested the story with concerns about the career of a long-distance driver - a job that Mr. Van Nhut has been involved in for many years. He told me about eating street food, market porridge, sleeping temporarily under the car and long trips that often made him exhausted. However, the job of a driver was still his main source of income, supporting him throughout his youth.
However, it was this job that became the biggest obstacle when he planned to get married. Because of her work as a teacher, Mrs. Mau's family is strict and worried about prejudices about long-distance drivers, afraid that their daughter will suffer many disadvantages. To be approved by his family, Mr. Nhut made a big decision: to give up the job of a driver that he has been involved in for a decade. The couple then opened a small restaurant together. The first days were difficult, there were not many customers, and their income was unstable, but both of them still persisted in rebuilding their lives.
When asked by psychologist Bui Hong Quan if she ever wished to return to her old job, Ms. Mau frankly admitted: out of love and because she cared for her husband, she chose to listen to her family and discuss letting him change jobs. MC Dinh Toan also commented that the job of a long-distance driver has many potential dangers, so the family's reaction comes from protection.
As life gradually stabilized, big waves arrived. Trusting his close colleagues, Mr. Van Nhut lent him all his savings - nearly 1 billion VND - to open a business. But when the business collapsed, this friend disappeared, causing the couple to "los everything". Mr. Nhut recalled that many nights he saw his wife crying out of regret and sorrow, he was so heartbroken that he worried all night. Both had to start over from zero, both working, paying off debts, and encouraging each other to overcome the incident. Mrs. Mau admitted to blaming her husband, but her sympathy was still greater: "Everyone's life has tripped at times, it can't be as smooth as ever".
Dr. Bui Hong Quan commented that blaming is natural, but tolerance after the incident is the fulcrum to help the family stand firm. MC Dinh Toan shared that his story is proof of the value of understanding in marriage.
Not only facing economic difficulties, they also face challenges in raising children. Mr. Nhut said that his second son was once invited by friends to drop out of school and play, making his family worried. Instead of scolding, Mrs. Mau chose to talk to her children every night, talking about the future, responsibility and family love. Thanks to that, I gradually changed and went in the right direction. Dr. Bui Hong Quan highly appreciated the way the couple met in child education - an important factor of a modern family.
The story of Mr. Le Van Nhut - Ms. Bui Thi Mau in the theme "Common Heart" brings a true view of the very everyday challenges that many Vietnamese families can sympathize with: economic pressure, career prejudice, financial incidents and child-rearing journey. But above all, understanding, trust and couplehood - what helps them stand firm in all hardships.
