On November 10, Mau Lam Commune Police (Thanh Hoa Province) said that they are coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the serious traffic accident that left a teacher and his wife injured and dead.
Previously, at around 9:15 p.m. on November 9, Mr. L.V.N. and Ms. D.T.A. (residing in Dong Sinh village, Mau Lam commune; both are teachers in the commune) was driving a motorbike from Nhu Thanh commune to Mau Lam commune.
When arriving at Phu Quang village (Mau Lam commune), a pickup truck with license plate 36C-496.xx suddenly rushed to the opposite road, hit a wall of a house and overturned, colliding strongly with the motorbike of Mr. N and his wife.
The collision caused the couple to be thrown out of the car and seriously injured. People and authorities of Mau Lam commune quickly assisted in taking the victims to the emergency room. However, due to severe injuries, Ms. A. died later; Mr. N. is currently being treated at Thanh Hoa General Hospital.
At the scene, the car was overturned, the front tire exploded and the front end was severely damaged; the motorbike was thrown about 20m away.
The cause of the accident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
