In the past, Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long also had a time when he was "bullied". When he was studying at the Tran Huu Trang Arts Center, the male artist was "chosen" by the late artist Duc Loi to play the role of the prince in the play Tam Cam.
However, when it was almost time to go on stage, he panicked when the troupe leader informed him that he could not play this role.
Not yet over the sadness of having her role cut before going on stage, the 6X singer was also choked up when she was put into the "role" of a soldier - the prince's servant.
After graduating, he continued to fall into a "half-crying, half-laughing" situation when artist Phung Ha assigned him the role of "clown".
Accepting the role in the play "The Peony Fairy", he couldn't help but wonder, until artist Phung Ha answered, he was convinced. The male artist said: "Artist Phung Ha (also known by the intimate title Ma Bay) told me a sentence that until now, I find very true: "In a script, no role is small, only when you perform that role, will the audience pay attention, remember you or not".
The male artist also admitted that he participates in many genres, but the "clown" roles are warmly received by the public.
“Artist Vu Linh once invited me to play a role in the play "Luong Son Ba, Chuc Anh Dai", but because this was not the main character, he was hesitant to invite me to perform. However, he was surprised when I was ready without thinking. After I finished singing, the audience really liked this role, and artist Vu Linh also gave me many compliments,” the male artist recalled.
In addition, the 6X singer also recalled a supporting role that made her famous in the play "The Memorial Ferry": "When Mr. Hoang Song Viet assigned me this role, I spent time researching, creating and luckily it became a role that was loved by the audience. Also from this role, I achieved many successes, running shows tirelessly in the 90s."
Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long also shared that a play that he still remembers to this day is "Ma Sieu's revenge". Before the performance, the male artist asked to decline because his family was in mourning: "I remember that night was Sunday, I had to be there at 9pm, I asked to be absent because my mother passed away at that time.
However, the show organizer did not accept it and begged me to perform because without me, the audience would be sad. After being encouraged by my father, I arrived at the venue but could not perform because of the sadness of losing my mother. I was dizzy, my voice was stuffy and hoarse, but I don't know why there was some kind of energy, the audience suddenly applauded because I performed very smoothly."
