"Get Rich With Ghosts" Keeps Top 1 At Box Office
The film tells the story of the humorous money-making deal between Lanh (Tuan Tran) and the "ghost" Na (Diep Bao Ngoc) and the father-daughter love story between him and Mr. Dao (Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh). In particular, Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh's return has attracted the attention of the audience.
On the evening of August 30, the movie "Getting Rich with Ghosts" had a cinetour to theaters in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of director Trung "Lun", Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh, Tuan Tran, Diep Bao Ngoc, Binh Hung, PT Ngoc Diep and many other members of the crew.
Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh shared: “Meeting such a large audience, hearing everyone’s sharing and affection is a great motivation for the film crew of Getting Rich with Ghosts. Hopefully the film will bring everyone mixed emotions of joy and sadness and leave everyone with family affection.”
The film is currently at the top of the box office on the first day of the September 2 holiday. It has the highest opening day revenue with over 80,000 tickets sold. As of the morning of August 31, the film has earned nearly 12 billion VND.
The film's weak points are that many details are not well exploited, and the characters' psychological journeys are still unstable. However, both Hoai Linh and Tuan Tuan have a good combination, creating excitement for the audience.
Hai Muoi ranked 2nd at the box office
The film "Hai Muoi" directed by Vu Thanh Vinh revolves around Mr. Hai (played by Quyen Linh), a salt farmer who is a single father. When his daughter Muoi (Bao Ngoc) grows up, she dreams of moving to the city to change her life, which leads to conflicts with her father.
The film marks Quyen Linh's 20-year return to cinema. The film has grossed over 6 billion VND and is currently ranked 2nd at the box office.
In the film, MC Quyen Linh said that the most haunting scene for him was the rain scene. In this scene, Mr. Hai felt sorry for the salt field that had just started its harvest and encountered a rainstorm, so he tried to save it, but fell and fell face down in the field. That day, the male MC was drenched in the rain from 5pm to 5am.
“At that time, the film crew was taking many angles, so I had to lie face down motionless for half an hour. The salty water rushed into my nose and eyes, making it hard for me to breathe. When I sat up, tears streamed down my face because it was so spicy,” Quyen Linh shared.
Although the film has received attention from the audience, it still has some weaknesses. The film is considered to have safe content and lacks highlights throughout the work. Many viewers believe that the film has not clearly revealed its cinematic qualities, the way it is narrated, the dialogue and the character's journey are somewhat dramatic. However, Quyen Linh's performance is considered a highlight.
