The story of Mr. Tran Van Hung (living in Kinh Mon ward, Hai Phong city) in recent days has shocked many people. For more than 10 years, he raised two children - a boy and a girl - with all the love of his father. But then the results of the DNA test exposed the heartbreaking truth: all three people are not related by blood.
Mr. Hung said that he and Ms. H.T.T got married in 2009. During their time together, the two had two children. He always believes that this is the complete home that he has tried to build, so he has never doubted anything.
In 2016, the couple divorced. Since then, he has been the one who directly raised the two young grandchildren.
In 2022, he married a new family and in 2024, his wife gave birth to a baby girl who clearly resembled her father. At this time, public opinion around, from relatives to neighbors, began to ask the question: "Why don't the two of you look at you at all when you are older?".
At first, he just laughed. But that thought stuck with him, especially when his two children were both old and understanding. After many conversations, the two children agreed to go for a DNA test with him to "relieve their questions".
On August 1, 2024, he received the result: He is not the biological father of both. He said that he was silent and could not believe the conclusion he was holding. "I have raised my two children for many years, loved them, and worried about each meal and sleep. Reading the results makes me feel heartbroken like someone else, he confided.
Notably, according to Mr. Hung, his grandfather was said to have known about the incident in advance but did not cooperate to resolve the matter peacefully. This made him even more disappointed and frustrated.
On August 7, 2024, he filed a lawsuit to confirm that he was "not a father or daughter", to completely resolve legal obligations, especially property issues later. He wanted to return the two children to his ex-wife's family to avoid prolonged problems. However, Ms. T's family did not cooperate, making the procedures difficult and time-consuming.
Sharing with Lao Dong newspaper, Mr. Hung said that he did not intend to blame or dig deep into the past. What he wants most right now is to complete the legal procedures soon so that everything is clear.
"I still love my two children because they have been with me since I was little. Later, if they were obedient and knowledgeable, I would still consider them as my children. If not, consider it as a donation to yourself" - he said.
The incident surprised many acquaintances of Mr. Hung, because over the years, he has still posted many happy moments of his family on social networks. No one thought that the hidden behind those photos was a hurtful story that he himself did not know.
Despite being sad and tired by the harsh truth, Mr. Hung was still encouraged and questioned by neighbors. In particular, his current wife is always by his side, helping him overcome the biggest shock of his life. Thanks to that encouragement, he tried to keep his spirit to continue handling unfinished procedures.
Up to now, the case is still being considered and resolved by the authorities according to the law.
