Hanoi parents diversify summer activities for their children to develop skills

HUYỀN TRANG |

Hanoi - Not only extra classes, many parents choose summer camps, sports and experiential activities for their children to practice skills during the summer vacation.

When the school year closes, many families in Hanoi begin to plan for their children's summer vacation with diverse choices.

Instead of letting children spend most of their time at home or being exposed to electronic devices, many parents prioritize activities such as summer camps, swimming classes, basketball, football or experiential programs to help their children develop skills and improve their health.

Present at a summer camp program for children in Hanoi, Ms. Nguyen Ha Giang (Cau Giay ward) said that this year she registered for both children to participate. According to her, the most important thing is not that children learn more knowledge but to have the opportunity to train confidence and integration ability.

This year I let 2 friends register to participate in this summer camp. Through letting my children participate in activities, I want them to be more proactive, integrate with the collective, know how to work in groups and be less shy," said Ms. Nguyen Ha Giang.

After the first day of participation, Ms. Giang noticed that her child had many positive changes and received positive feedback from the organizers.

After a day of participation, the managers also commented that my child is very dynamic and actively participates with everyone. In the following years, I will continue to let my children participate in summer camps," Ms. Ha Giang shared.

Besides summer camps, many families also prioritize their children participating in sports during the summer vacation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai (Van Mieu ward - Quoc Tu Giam) said that during the school year, her child's schedule is almost full from morning to afternoon, so summer is a suitable time to exercise.

Normally during the year, children study from 8 am to about 5 pm before returning home. In summer, the time at home is too long, so the family needs to have their children study sports such as swimming, volleyball, basketball. The first option I choose is swimming because it helps strengthen physical strength and develop height," Ms. Thai said.

According to Ms. Thai, allowing children to participate in sports activities in the summer not only helps train their health but also limits the time children spend using electronic devices.

When the children go swimming, they will reduce time at home playing games or using phones and computers. In the morning I take my children swimming, in the afternoon I participate in basketball or football," Ms. Thai said.

For Ms. Tran Thi Thu Trang (Giang Vo ward, Hanoi), experiential programs bring more value than keeping children at home during the holiday.

I find the summer camp quite useful, so I want to let my child participate so that he is bolder, improves communication skills as well as develops himself. I hope my child can interact with more people, confidently chat and participate in activities to improve his health," Ms. Thu Trang said.

Choosing summer camps, sports classes or experiential programs shows that many Hanoi parents are prioritizing activities that help their children develop comprehensively during the summer vacation.

Not only creating a healthy playground, these activities also contribute to physical training, communication skills, self-reliance and limiting children's time in contact with electronic devices, bringing a meaningful summer vacation before entering the new school year.
