Hanoi parents are busy choosing cars for their children before the new school year

Hanoi - The demand for buying cars for students has increased sharply, making the market bustling after the major exams in the school year ended.

Parents are busy buying cars for their children

Immediately after the 10th grade entrance exam and the high school graduation exam ended, many electric vehicle and 50cc motorbike stores in Hanoi recorded a sharp increase in customers.

At an electric vehicle dealership in Hanoi, Ms. Ngo Bich Hanh (Dinh Cong ward, Hanoi) and her daughter consulted many car models for students. Her child is about to enter 10th grade, so the family decided to buy a car to facilitate going to school and moving.

I don't put too much emphasis on the design but care about the quality and origin of the car to see if it is suitable for students or not. Just need the car to be easy to control, operate stably and have full warranty," Ms. Hanh said.

According to Ms. Hanh, in addition to safety factors, the family also cares about the warranty system, after-sales service and the popularity of the product.

I plan to spend about under 20 million VND for my child's first car, with sufficient incentives and clear warranty policies," Ms. Hanh added.

At another store, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung (Giang Vo ward, Hanoi) also took his son who had just completed the high school graduation exam to choose a car. After consulting many product lines, the family prioritized electric cars instead of 50cc motorbikes.

Electric vehicles are now much more convenient than before, the usage cost is low and also environmentally friendly. The important thing is to choose reputable brands to ensure safety for children when going to school every day," Mr. Tung said.

Purchasing power increases sharply, price segment expands

According to records from stores in Hanoi, the car market for students is entering the most vibrant phase of the year. Many stores said that the number of customers coming to learn about and buy cars has increased sharply, especially electric cars and small capacity motorbikes.

At a car dealership in Hanoi, Mr. Hoang Van Trung (store manager) said that purchasing power has increased significantly immediately after the exam scores were announced.

Since the announcement of the high school entrance exam scores, the number of customers at my company has increased by about 400 - 500% compared to normal days. Mainly parents take their children to choose cars, because this is a daily means of transportation for school, so they are quite careful in their choices," Mr. Trung said.

According to Mr. Trung, the most interested price segment currently ranges from 18 - 25 million VND. This is a group of products mainly belonging to electric vehicles and some 50cc motorbike lines, suitable for the basic usage needs of students.

Parents today prioritize brands with wide distribution systems, easy warranty and repair. The trend of choosing electric vehicles is clearly increasing compared to 50cc gasoline vehicles," Mr. Trung added.

Meanwhile, at another electric vehicle dealership in Hanoi, there is a strong shift to popular electric vehicles, with more accessible prices.

Student demand this year has increased by about 300 - 400% compared to normal days. Customers come to learn very carefully, not only interested in the price but also asking a lot about the battery, durability and warranty policy," Mr. Tang Van Manh - store owner - shared.

According to Mr. Manh, popular car models today have prices ranging from about 11 - 20 million VND, depending on design, battery capacity and travel distance.

The segment over 11 million is being chosen by many parents because it is affordable. Models higher than 15 - 20 million VND are focused on groups that need to travel further, with more full utilities," Mr. Manh said.

According to stores, purchasing power is expected to continue to increase in the coming time as the demand for preparing school vehicles for students enters the peak period before the new school year.
