Ho Chi Minh City - Passengers who still have unused 2026 bus tickets will be refunded by Ho Chi Minh City because the city exempts bus tickets on 134 routes from July 1.

The Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center has just issued guidelines for receiving refund dossiers for bus ticket collection tickets in 2026 after the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved Resolution No. 09/2026/NQ-HĐND on policies to support 100% of bus ticket prices in the last 6 months of the year.

Passengers who have purchased the 2026 bus ticket before July 1st, but have not used up, will be reimbursed for the remaining ticket.

The subjects eligible for refund are passengers who own 2026 bus ticket vouchers issued from January 1, 2026 and no longer need to use them because the city exempts all bus ticket prices from July 1.

To be refunded, the exercise form must still have the original cover, with full certification from the Public Transport Management Center and the issuer.

The refund amount will be calculated according to the actual face value of each remaining individual ticket in the ticket set. Currently, the ticket price for set 30 tickets ranges from 112,500-157,500 VND depending on the distance. The entrance ticket for students is priced at 135,000 VND/30 tickets.

The refund receipt period lasts for 4 months, from July 1 to the end of October 31, 2026.

Passengers bring the exercise voucher directly to Saigon Bus Station to complete the refund procedure.

From July 1st to the end of December 31st, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will implement 100% free ticket prices on 134 bus routes to encourage people to use public passenger transport, reduce personal vehicles and traffic congestion.

In the initial phase, from July 1 to the end of September 30, 2026, all bus passengers will be free of charge, not required to carry out authentication or identification.

From October 1st to the end of December 31st, 2026, 100% ticket price support will be associated with recording and verifying passenger information.

People can authenticate through many forms such as citizen identification cards, VNeID accounts, bank cards, e-wallets, MultiGo applications or other legal electronic methods according to the guidance of functional agencies.

For the elderly, people with disabilities, children, students, passersby and other special cases, Ho Chi Minh City will issue separate instructions to facilitate the process of using bus services.
