Liu Qiangdong announced that he would send New Year gifts to the villagers of Guangming, with each household receiving gifts worth thousands of yuan. Each senior over 60 years old would receive 10,000 yuan in cash. The gifts included mobile phones for the elderly, electric cars, and hearing aids.
In his New Year's greetings, Liu Qiangdong also promised that he had prepared cash envelopes worth 100,000 yuan for all primary school teachers in Guangming Village.
Each household received gifts worth between 6,000 and 8,000 yuan. In addition, he prepared cash envelopes worth 10,000 yuan for hundreds of people over 60 years old in the village.
11 trucks carrying Tet gifts arrived at Quang Minh village on January 7, and are expected to deliver gifts to people continuously until January 10.
