This year, nearly 103,000 students registered to take the 10th grade entrance exam of non-professional public high schools in Hanoi, while the target is only about 64%.
Although the quota has increased slightly compared to last year, students are still under a lot of pressure due to the high competition rate.
At the exam locations, the image of students taken to the exam by their parents and grandparents became familiar. Along with the excitement of the students was the anxiety and restlessness of the parents.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (38 years old, Cau Giay) shared with Lao Dong reporter about her child's whole night of insomnia before the important exam.
"I think there are times when I am more stressed than my child. Every day, in addition to main meals, I prepare snacks, supplement nutritious foods, follow my child's extracurricular schedule, and worry about whether my child is under too much pressure.
In order for my child to focus on studying, my family tries to arrange work to adjust to suit their schedule. I often tell my children that during the exam preparation time, they do not need to do housework, do not need to worry about anything, just focus on studying and resting well. Because in fact, the most important thing for me is my child's health and well-being," Ms. Lan shared.
Before the important exam of grade 9 students, they focus all their efforts on reviewing the exam, almost "eating and sleeping" next to their notebooks, focusing on a tight study schedule.
When talking about their children's journey to take the 10th grade entrance exam, many parents have the same view that their children are given priority over everything and just need to review well, the remaining issues are for parents to worry about.

In hot weather, sometimes sudden rain in Hanoi, many parents are still waiting at school gates, waiting to pick up their children after the exam.
Ms. Minh Thao cried when she saw her daughter leave the English exam room on the afternoon of June 7. She shed tears and told the reporter: "I cried when I saw my child leave the exam room because I saw that my child had grown up. The child had a hard time. Hopefully tomorrow will pass quickly so that they can rest after a long period of stress".
Ms. Dang Thanh Ha took her child to take the exam at Tran Duy Hung Secondary School and also felt nervous, because her eldest daughter entered the first important exam in her life.
She affirmed that both her father and mother were not afraid of suffering, just afraid that they were not capable of creating the best conditions for their children. Parents' love also comes from small things, such as mother staying up late cooking for her children, father taking her home without any shortage of schoolwork and grandparents always ask her closely how to encourage her.
The parent confided: "I never say to my child the saying 'Mom sacrifices for me' but always say 'Mom is happy to see me try'. I want you to understand that studying is for yourself, not to repay your parents".

"I keep trying my best, parents are always proud of me no matter the result," this saying has become an invaluable source of motivation for many candidates.
The 10th grade entrance exam is not only a knowledge test for students but also a challenge for the whole family at a special milestone.
