Candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue, Chu Van An and Son Tay will take a specialized exam on June 9 after completing the entrance exams for public grade 10.

This year is the first year that candidates have taken the 10th grade exam under the 2018 General Education Program. Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the sample exam questions for 3 subjects: Math, Literature, English for students and teachers to refer to, with an overview orientation.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training's English sample exam consists of 40 objective multiple-choice questions with 4 options and multiple-choice questions in the 60-minute test, including 18 simple questions and 5 clusters of questions including 1 context/incident along with questions on words, grammar, expressed in written text, reading and understanding the text.
The questions in the exam are built with 03 levels of thinking: Knowledge (20%) - Understanding (40%) - Application (40%), to assess candidates' foreign language proficiency. The exam tests the skills of tonscape; words; grammar; communication; writing; reading comprehension. words, structure; grammar; common communication in curriculum and textbooks.
There are 11 types of lessons including: pronunciation; weighting; completing short sentences; filling in the notification board; arranging them into complete text messages; filling phrases to ensure the correct sentence structure in the text; finding syn meaningful sentences; arranging them into complete sentences; identifying signs; reading and answering questions; combining content into complete text messages.

It is expected that from July 4 to July 6, the Department will simultaneously announce the exam scores and the standard scores of grade 10. Candidates who are admitted are confirmed to enter school from July 10 to 12.
