Recently, at the press conference to inform about the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn - Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand revealed the special features of the event. Accordingly, the opening ceremony will combine modern technology and Thai culture, contributing to promoting the image of the land of the Golden Temple to the international community.
With the theme "Net Zero" of the Green SEA Games, all activities will aim to contribute to reducing pollution for the planet. Mr. Atthakorn emphasized that the fire-picking and torch-lighting part of the 33rd SEA Games will be done impressively with the theme of not causing environmental pollution.
An expected highlight at the event is the appearance of many famous artists and athletes from Thailand. In addition to 11 beauty queens and runners-up such as Opal Suchata Chuangsri, Anntonia Porsild... participating in holding license plates for 11 sports delegations from different countries, the opening ceremony also had many other famous people.
These include fighter Muay Thai - Buakaw Banchamek, Kpop star BamBam (former member of GOT7) - known as a close friend of Lisa (Blackpink), rapper Nattawut Srimok, rapper Pitawat Phrueksa, singer Violette Wautier...
"We will have actors, singers and athletes who have made Thailand famous. We mainly introduce famous domestic stars as well as famous Thai singers abroad. I hope the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games will be a complete success," Mr. Atthakorn shared.
The opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games will take place at 6:00 p.m. on December 9, 2025 at Rajamangala National Stadium (Bangkok). The festival is expected to have 5 performances, each performance with its own unique highlight. The organizers hope that the opening night will bring the audience "back in time" to the origin of the SEA Games, demonstrating cultural exchange.
