Netflix's blockbuster animated film "Kpop Demon Hunters" (Kpop Demon Hunters) has become one of the biggest winners at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony, held on January 11 (local time) in the US.
Kpop Demon Hunters" won two awards at the same time: Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Original Song with the song "Golden".
Two directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, along with producer Michelle Wong, represented the crew to receive the Best Animated Feature Film award. Maggie Kang expressed gratitude to the Golden Globes and all those who believed that a film imbued with Korean cultural identity could still reach global audiences.
Chris Appelhans called this project: "A love letter to music and its power in connecting people, helping us see a common humanity - something that the world today needs very much.
Since its release in June 2025, the film has become the most viewed title on Netflix, with more than 500 million views as of December 2025, showing its widespread appeal and strong cultural influence.
The film revolves around the superstar Kpop group Huntrix - including Rumi, Mira and Zoey - who both perform in crowded stadiums, and live a secret life as demon hunters, confronting a male group whose rivals are actually demons.

The Best Original Original Song award went to Joong Gyu Kwak, Yu Han Lee, Hee Dong Nam, Jeong Hoon Seo, Park Hong Jun, EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick - the people who composed the music and lyrics for the song "Golden.
EJAE not only participates in composing but is also the voice actor for the character Rumi - the main vocalist of Huntrix, directly performing the song "Golden".
Winning an important award, EJAE shared about her journey, from a Kpop intern to a singer-songwriter conquering the Golden Globes: "When I was young, I worked non-stop for 10 years to pursue a dream of becoming a Kpop idol. But I was rejected and disappointed because my voice was not good enough.
I rely on songs and music to get through that time. And now, I stand here as a singer and musician.
Being present in a song that helps girls, boys and everyone of all ages overcome difficulties, accept themselves, is truly a dream becoming a reality.
EJAE awarded the prize to those who "had their doors shut before them", and affirmed: "I can confidently say that being rejected is having a new opportunity. So never give up. It's never too late to shine the way you were born.
EJAE's real name is Kim Eun Jae, born in 1991. She had more than 10 years as a trainee of SM Entertainment, but ultimately did not make her debut.
After that, EJAE gave up her training path to become a Kpop idol, switching to the role of music composer. She participated in composing for SM artists such as Red Velvet, Taeyeon, aespa and many other famous Kpop artists and groups.
