Recently, singer and songwriter EJAE attracted attention when appearing on JTBC Korea's Newsroom program.
EJAE is the voice of the female lead character Rumi - a member of the fairy tale girl group HUNTR/X in Netflix's hit cartoon "Kpop Demon Hunters".
She also participated in composing and directly performing many songs in the soundtrack list such as "Golden", "How It's done", " Freeze", " Takedown", "What It Sounds Like".

In particular, the song "Golden" with EJAE participating in writing lyrics and contributing vocals (as a member of HUNTR/X) made history when it simultaneously reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK Official Singles chart.
On the Newsroom show, EJAE shared, "I still feel like I'm dreaming. I always want to create a hit song, but I didn't think it would come that quickly."
EJAE added that the recording of Golden was also a deeply personal experience: I cried a lot when recording the demo. At that time, I was struggling and put my story into the song. I sympathize with the character Rumi, the song gave me confidence and hope.
The Korean-American singer revealed that the boy band God is her biggest inspiration. She learned Korean through the song "Road" by this Kpop group.
When asked about the artist he wanted to collaborate with the most, EJAE did not hesitate to choose Jungkook (BTS).
The answer immediately attracted the attention of fans, because Jungkook also had a very successful solo album called Golden - coincidentally the name of the hit song Golden in the movie Kpop Demon Hunters that helped EJAE become famous.
EJAE praised Jungkook: "He sings very well and conveys emotions through his voice very well. I want to write him a great melody. It would be an honor to work with him.

Looking back on her journey, EJAE said that music was the driving force for her to heal. "I want to continue to develop as an artist and a composer," the singer said about her future plans.
EJAE's real name is Kim Eun Jae, born in 1991. She spent more than 10 years as a trainee at SM Entertainment (since 2003), but was not able to debut in the end.
After that, EJAE gave up his training path to become a Kpop idol, switching to the role of music composition. She participated in composing music for SM Entertainment artists such as Red Velvet, Taeyeon, aespa and many other famous Kpop artists and groups.
Participating in voiceover and soundtrack for Kpop Demon Hunters has suddenly become an important milestone in EJAEs career. It helped her regain her confidence as a singer and affirmed her talent from a new perspective.
The producers also praised EJAE's impressive voice gap and encouraged her to perform instead of just being behind the scenes.
On October 24, EJAE will release the single "In Another World", marking her official debut as a solo artist.
