According to the music censorship results of Korean broadcaster KBS announced on April 8, out of a total of 11 songs from T.O. P's debut studio album "Another dimension" (released on April 3), up to 7 songs were rated as not eligible for broadcasting.
Notably, out of 195 songs censored on the same day, only 7 songs were censored, and all were by T.O. P.
Specifically, the main reasons are related to the content of the lyrics and advertising elements. The songs "Be solid" and "Another dimension holy dude!" were eliminated due to containing vulgar and offensive words.
Songs such as "For fans", "Seoul chaos", "Zero-Coke", "Studio54" were assessed as violating Article 46 (restricting advertising effects) for directly mentioning brand names.
In particular, the song "Self crucifixion" attracted attention when it was assessed as having lyrics that may encourage or be related to the use of banned substances, drugs or illegal acts.
This is believed to stem from T.O. P's incorporation of past experiences and controversies (including marijuana scandals) into his music, leading to exceeding censorship limits.
Conversely, songs such as "Stendhal syndrome", "Desperado", "Obaya", "The Giant" have passed censorship and can be broadcast. According to KBS regulations, removed songs can edit or remove the violating part and then submit it for re-review.
With this album, T.O. P officially returns as a solo singer after 13 years, and directly participates in the production of the entire project.
Despite experiencing many upheavals such as announcing his retirement and withdrawing, or leaving Big Bang, his products still received public support from Big Bang members such as G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, showing strong teamwork.
