Recently, a video about Korean actress Go Min Si's weight loss posted on YouTube channel "117" has attracted attention.
In the video, Go Min Si shares her experience losing weight to 43kg to play the role of Yoo Seong Ah - a crazy murderer in the Netflix drama "The Frog".
She revealed her shocking daily diet: "I survive on just one iced latte, a packet of seasoned seaweed and two boiled eggs a day.
My concentration has really improved. Eating makes me sleepy, but when I eat less, I feel more alert."
During filming, she was hungry and said, “Doesn’t eating make you sleepy? I don’t like that feeling. My body and stamina aren’t good for that.”
To prepare for the role, Go Min Si shared: "I wanted to show my spine. I thought it would give a raw feeling to the brutal actions I had to perform."
She also mentioned her previous role in “The Witch,” when she had to gain 58kg: “At that time, I was very happy because I could eat comfortably without restrictions.”
Go Min Si's ability to control her weight for different roles has attracted public attention, while also sparking debate about extreme celebrity diets.
The eight-episode horror thriller "The Frog" was released on Netflix on August 23 this year. The work opens two parallel stories between the past and the present, revolving around two unfortunate motel owners who are caught up in the crime vortex of a serial killer.
In the present, Jeon Yeong Ha (Kim Yoon Seok) runs a vacation rental house deep in the woods. His peaceful life is disturbed when two guests, Yoo Seong Ah (Go Min Si) and her son, visit.
Flashback 20 years ago, rural innkeeper Koo Sang Jun (Yoon Kye Sang) and his wife also live in fear, after a murder occurs.
Go Min Si's role as a crazy, unpredictable murderer was praised for her appearance and acting. However, the work received mixed reviews because of its many violent scenes.
