According to the match schedule, the Vietnamese futsal team will face the Australian futsal team in the semi-finals of the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship.
Previously, in the group stage, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team won all four matches, respectively against Timor Leste (4-1), Malaysia (2-1), Brunei (14-0) and Thailand (3-2).
Notably, after 10 years, the Vietnamese futsal team was able to defeat the team from the land of the golden pagoda once again. Although the opponent took the lead twice, Pham Duc Hoa's goal and Dinh Cong Vien's double helped Vietnam make an impressive comeback.
Leading Group A helps the Vietnamese futsal team breathe easier in the semi-finals when facing the Australian futsal team. This opponent entered the knockout round of the Southeast Asian tournament as the second place in Group B.
In the 3 encounters since 2019, the Vietnamese futsal team has won all of them. Recently, before the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, the two teams played a friendly match and Mr. Giustozzi and his team won.
Currently, the Vietnamese futsal team is considered to be better than the opponent. However, the players are not allowed to be subjective. Duc Hoa and his teammates need to maintain confidence, stable performance and make the most of the opportunities created.
