The song "Vietnamese people love each other" composed by Chau Dang Khoa, performed by singers Cam Ly and Hoa Minzy, attracted the attention of the audience.
Accordingly, the line "ripe rice is tall but never bows" became the focus with many mixed opinions.
A part of the audience believes that this way of expressing is contradictory to the familiar saying "ripe rice bows", which symbolizes humility.
The reversal of meaning is considered to easily cause misunderstandings, even distorting the standard values that have been shaped in folk culture.

Before this reaction, Chau Dang Khoa spoke up to explain. He affirmed that he does not deny the traditional meaning of the image of "ripe rice bowing", but the intention in the song is to expand the meaning layer, "not bowing" is understood as not succumbing to adversity or pressure, associated with the resilient spirit of Vietnamese people.
However, this argument is not convincing to the entire public. Many opinions believe that using the image of rice plants in the direction of "not bowing their heads" is both inappropriate for natural reality and easily causes misunderstandings in terms of education.
