This coming December, two shows "Anh trai say hi" and "Call Me by Fire" will hold concerts to serve audiences in the North.
Initially, many viewers speculated that “Call Me by Fire” would take place at My Dinh National Stadium or the F1 racetrack (next to the stadium). This is a “golden” location that has hosted many large-scale national and international events.
However, the program organizers later decided to set the venue at Vinhomes Ocean Park 3 (Hung Yen) on December 14.
This decision can be explained. At that time, My Dinh Stadium will be used to host the match between Vietnam and Indonesia at the AFF Cup 2024 (the training session will take place on December 14 and the official match will take place on December 15).
The organizers are also ready to provide convenient pick-up and accommodation services for audiences from afar; ensuring the best experience the musical atmosphere brings.
Meanwhile, the program “Anh trai say hi” has a relationship with My Dinh Stadium. The organizing committee completed the procedure to rent the venue on December 7, conducted a survey of the stadium and opened online ticket sales in early November.
Within just a few hours of opening for sale, tickets priced under 3 million VND/ticket were announced to be sold out on the online application. That is an affirmation of the attraction of “Anh trai say hi” at this time.
However, the organization of the match at My Dinh Stadium on December 7 by "Anh trai say hi" has unintentionally affected the AFF Cup 2024 competition plan of the Vietnamese team - a "regular guest" of this stadium for over 20 years - to some extent.
Vietnam’s first group stage match against Indonesia will take place on December 15, just one week after the “Anh trai say hi” concert. The quality of the grass at My Dinh Stadium is unlikely to be restored in time to meet the requirements for the tournament.
According to the regulations of the AFF Cup organizing committee, 3 weeks before the match takes place, the stadium is not allowed to host other events to ensure the quality of the grass surface.
Because of this, the Vietnam Football Federation had to ask the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) to temporarily hold the match at another stadium.
According to the latest news from Lao Dong, AFF has agreed to let the Vietnamese team compete at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) when hosting Indonesia (December 15) and Myanmar (December 21).
In case they reach the semi-finals or further into the finals, the "Golden Star Warriors" can return to My Dinh Stadium to compete when the quality of the grass is guaranteed.
However, at present, the Vietnam Football Federation has not provided any official information about the venue for the matches at the AFF Cup 2024.
