On May 22, Matichon reported that Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil - President of Miss Grand International (MGI) - spoke out about the incident of Miss Thuy Tien.
At the press conference to appoint Miss & Mister Supranational Thailand 2025, Mr. Nawat was asked about Thuy Tien and admitted that he was following information related to her incident.
Regarding the decision to revoke the title, Mr. Nawat affirmed that at present, the MGI organization has not made a decision to revoke Thuy Tien's title. Mr. Nawat said that this was Thuy Tien's personal matter, she and MGI had expired their contracts and had stopped collaborating for a long time.
"We have not made a decision yet. Since the violations did not occur during her time in charge of MGI, we consider her a part of the history of the contest. However, if it becomes serious in the future, with a specific verdict, we will reconsider. At the present time, she no longer has any activities or relations with the organization."

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was born in 1998, won the title of 1st Runner-up at Miss Southern 2017 and entered the top 5 of Miss Vietnam 2018. She once represented Vietnam at Miss International 2018 in Japan.
In 2021, Thuy Tien represented Vietnam at the Miss Grand International contest in Thailand and won the crown.
Thanks to the title of Miss International, Thuy Tien is in high demand for promotional shows, attending events, and becoming a prominent beauty in showbiz. Accordingly, many sources confirmed that Thuy Tien "changed her life" with high show fee, and the ranking among beauty queens was also different.
In early 2025, Thuy Tien was involved in a scandal related to the vegetable and Kera candy product cooperated with Quang Linh and Hang Du Muc. On April 4, the Investigation Police Agency of Dak Lak Province Police issued a decision to temporarily suspend Thuy Tien's exit for 2 months to serve the investigation.
Thuy Tien was fined 25 million VND from the decision of the National Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) for not clearly notifying consumers about being sponsored when providing product information on social networking platforms.
On May 19, the Office of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Agency prosecuted 5 more defendants related to the case of producing counterfeit food and defrauding customers, including Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien.
