According to Korean media, on the occasion of the 22nd birthday of idol singer Minji - a member of NewJeans - fans organized pop-up coffee shop events to celebrate her special birthday.
On May 5, many posts from fans shared that Minji personally visited the locations - not to appear publicly, but to leave behind cookies made by her own hands for fans. At the same time, Minji also left handwritten letters and photobooth photos sent to fans.
In the letter, Minji said that she spent a lot of time thinking about Bunnies - the NewJeans fan community.
She continued to express her gratitude and desire to reciprocate the feelings she received: "I heard that this year there are many places celebrating my birthday with me! I also want to send something back, so this time I prepared cookies made by my own hands.
In a letter, Minji wrote: "Honestly, I have a lot to say. But I am sure that one day we will meet again and be able to chat comfortably. Bunnies remember to eat fully and also listen to NewJeans' music... See you again".
In another letter, Minji mentioned NewJeans, she wrote: "Before, I used to think that nothing is forever, but at some point, I believe that NewJeans and Bunnies will be forever for me. While waiting for the day we can happily meet again, remember to eat well, take care of your health and live happily!".
Minji's move attracted attention, because the contract between her and ADOR company (under HYBE Group) has not been resolved to date.

5 NewJeans members - Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein - lost the lawsuit in the contract dispute with ADOR in October 2025. A month later, Haerin, Hyein and Hanni returned to the company, while Danielle terminated her contract.
At that time, ADOR said that the company and Minji were in the process of discussion. But until now, after 6 months, Minji's contract status has not been clarified, adding to the anxiety and curiosity from fans.
Last month, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein were caught appearing in Copenhagen (Denmark). After that, ADOR confirmed that NewJeans is preparing to return to music activities.
The company said: "Members are preparing for new activities suitable for each person's personal condition and schedule". The trip to Copenhagen is "part of the pre-production phase for the group's new music story".
However, ADOR did not directly mention Minji, making fans even more skeptical about the future of the female idol. Many people predict that NewJeans may reappear with only 3 members.
