ENHYPEN has just made a new mark in the US market when they first topped the Billboard 200 chart with their 8th mini album "The Sin: Bliss". This is the highest position the group has achieved on the prestigious Billboard album chart since their debut in 2020.
The Sin: Bliss" reached 98,000 album units in the chart week. Of which, direct album sales reached 92,000 copies, helping the product top the Top Album Sales chart. The remaining 6,000 units came from converted online listens, while sales from digital music downloads were negligible.
This result is even more noteworthy as "The Sin: Bliss" is ENHYPEN's first album after the group moved from a 7-member lineup to a 6-member lineup. The product is therefore considered a milestone marking the beginning of the group's new operating phase.
Before reaching the top of Billboard 200, ENHYPEN had a process of gradually increasing their ranking in the US market. The group first entered the charts in 2021 with "Border: Carnival". After that, ENHYPEN continuously brought the album to Billboard 200, with "Romance: Untold" and "The Sin: Vanish" both reaching 2nd place.
The Sin: Bliss" helped the group surpass this achievement for the first time and also marked 7 consecutive albums in the Top 10 Billboard 200, since "Manifesto: Day 1".
The album's purchasing power is also clearly shown in Korea. According to Hanteo data, "The Sin: Bliss" has surpassed 2 million copies just a few days after its release. As of August 27, the album's accumulated sales reached more than 2.02 million copies, helping ENHYPEN continue to maintain high album sales.
The Sin: Bliss" includes 10 songs, of which "Bloody Paradise" is chosen as the title track. The album is the sequel to the "The Sin" series, continuing to exploit the story revolving around the temptations, choices and boundaries that characters face.
With the latest No. 1 position, ENHYPEN became the 6th K-pop male group to top the Billboard 200, after BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, ATEEZ and Tomorrow X Together.
In the girl group, BLACKPINK, NewJeans, TWICE and KATSEYE once reached No. 1 on this chart. Netflix's animated soundtrack album "KPop Demon Hunters" also topped the Billboard 200.
In this week's chart, KATSEYE's "WILD" - the product topped last week - fell to 6th place with 55,000 album units. Stray Kids' "THIS & THAT" ranked 8th with 48,000 units.
This Billboard 200 achievement shows that ENHYPEN's appeal in the US continues to increase, while marking a remarkable step forward for the group in the operating period with a 6-member lineup.
