Hanoi arranges many free parking spots on National Day September 2nd
Hanoi will arrange many free parking spots in public areas, parks, relics and some streets from 5pm on August 31st to the end of September 2nd, 2026, serving people and tourists on the occasion of National Day.
According to the plan of the Hanoi City People's Committee, the organization of free parking spots is to meet the travel, entertainment, and sightseeing needs of people and tourists during the National Day holiday; and at the same time ensure security and order, traffic safety and fire and explosion prevention.
The plan was implemented by the Hanoi Department of Construction in coordination with relevant units according to the direction of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Truong Viet Dung in Notice No. 811/TB-VP.
Many free parking spots
According to the plan, free parking spots managed by public service units and city businesses are arranged in many areas.
Hanoi Parking Point Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company organizes parking at Doc Ngoc Ha (Ba Dinh); under the roads of Ngo Quyen streets (Tong Dan - Hai Ba Trung section), Ly Thai To, Hai Ba Trung, Le Phung Hieu and land adjacent to Industrial University (Tay Tuu).
Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company organizes parking under the roads of Ly Thai To and Nguyen Huu Huan streets.
Hanoi Transport Corporation arranges parking points at Yen Nghia Bus Station (Yen Nghia ward) and parking lots at Nhon station (Xuan Phuong ward).
Hanoi Youth Union organizes guarding at the Hanoi Children's Palace grounds, No. 36 Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem ward.
In addition to the above points, many parks, relics and public areas managed by the People's Committees of communes and wards are also arranged as free parking spots.
In the Ba Dinh area, there is the campus of Bach Thao Park and Thang Long Imperial Citadel; the Tay Ho area has the La Pho slope nursery land plot.
In the Hoan Kiem area, there is the campus of Trung Vuong Secondary School; temporary parking points on the roads of Le Phung Hieu, Tran Nguyen Han, Hang Trong, Nha Tho streets and temporary parking points on the sidewalks of Ly Thai To, Ngo Quyen streets.
In Hai Ba Trung, there is Tuoi Tre Park and Thong Nhat Park; in Ba Dinh, there is Thu Le Park and Indira Gandhi Park.
Other locations are arranged in the campus of Cau Giay Park; Phung Khoang Park campus (Dai Mo ward, Nam Tu Liem); Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam and Ly Thuong Kiet Elementary School (Van Mieu ward, Dong Da).
People's Committees of communes and wards are assigned to proactively review and expand suitable locations in the area to serve people. The list of additional points will be sent to the Department of Construction for updating and widespread information.
Coordinate traffic diversion, ensure safety
During the time of organizing free parking, the Hanoi Department of Construction coordinates with the City Police, the Traffic Police Department, the Police force for administrative management of social order and Hanoi Railway Company Limited to implement related tasks.
Police at all levels are required to coordinate to be on duty, ensuring security and order at parking points, and preventing vehicle theft.
Functional forces organize guidance and traffic diversion from afar, ensuring that vehicles enter and exit parking spots conveniently, limiting the impact on general traffic.
People are guided to stop and park vehicles in accordance with regulations; the roadway and sidewalk areas around parking points maintain urban order.
Along with that, fire and explosion prevention plans at crowded vehicle concentration points are inspected and guided to be strictly implemented.
Relevant units are responsible for summarizing and reporting the implementation results to the Department of Construction before 6:00 AM on September 3, 2026.
