The rookie boy band CORTIS, consisting of 5 members James, Juhoon, Martin, Seonghyeon and Keonho, has officially released their debut single What You Want.
Before stepping onto the showcase stage, the guys shared their emotional thoughts about the preparation journey and expectations for this debut. Martin and James, who composed music and choreographed for artists at HYBE, expressed their honor at standing on stage as themselves. Juhoon frankly admitted that he was anxiously waiting for the audience's reaction, while Keonho and Seonghyeon were moved when their dream of a debut finally came true.
The group name CORTIS is combined from the group Colors outside the lines, meaning "exceeding the prescribed boundary". All members participate in creating from music, choreography to visual content. In preparation for their debut, they went through a three-month writing camp in Los Angeles, with more than 300 songs written and arranged over two years, before deciding What You Want as their lead single.
The guys affirmed that their biggest goal is to leave an impression on the public, and at the same time, they want to be remembered as a group that lives with a passion for music. In particular, they also received many valuable advice from their seniors. BTS encouraged the group to always be grateful and humble, while TXT gave practical feedback after the audition, helping CORTIS perfect their debut.
