The contestants participating are faces selected from thousands of applications sent to the Organizing Committee. In the preliminary round, contestants go through contents such as checking applications, anthropometrics and interviewing with the judges to select faces to continue to the final round.
Speaking at the opening of the Northern preliminary round, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam 2026 - emphasized that the contest is always steadfast with four values: Beauty - Culture - Intelligence - Contribution. According to him, this is not only a criterion for selecting the winner but also a "compass" for each girl to grow up, improve herself and become a better version of herself.
One of the points that the Organizing Committee continues to maintain is the criterion of honoring natural beauty. After the regulations dissemination, the contestants entered the anthropometric test content directly performed by the team of doctors of Hanoi Medical University Hospital. The Organizing Committee said that the indicators are measured according to the process, and contestants have the right to request a re-examination if they have questions about the results.
The preliminary round atmosphere was exciting from early morning when many contestants were present from 6 am to complete the procedures. Many girls said they spent months practicing physical fitness, performance skills and communication before registering.
Among the contestants was Nguyen Thi Trinh (Nghe An), a student at Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, who lost 5 kg to prepare for the competition. She also participated in the TV series Summer That Year to be broadcast on VTV.
Vu Thi Khanh Vi, a former student of Foreign Trade University, and Nguyen Yen Trang, a student of Hanoi Capital University, are also faces attracting attention. According to the Organizing Committee, this year's preliminary round gathers many contestants who have achieved success in beauty contests and student contests across the country, along with many faces who try their hand for the first time.
The judges of the Northern preliminary round include Colonel, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, director Hoang Cong Cuong, designer Le Thanh Hoa, artist - singer Phan Minh Chau, MC Tran Ngoc and Miss Vietnam 2024 Ha Truc Linh.
The results of the Northern regional preliminary round will be announced at the end of July 29. After that, the competition will continue to organize the Southern regional preliminary round before selecting contestants for the national final round.
The final night of Miss Vietnam 2026 is expected to take place in Hai Phong.
