According to Ilgan Sports, Go Hyun Jung's health has recently worsened, causing the production team of the drama "Namib" to have a thorough discussion about whether she needs to return to filming.
On the 16th of last month, Go Hyun Jung was unexpectedly absent from the production launch of “Namib” due to health reasons, even though she was the female lead.
The specific details of her illness have not been revealed. But according to staff, Go Hyun Jung had to go to the emergency room that day and was unable to attend the event.
When Go Hyun Jung was hospitalized, there were still 2 scenes for “Namib” that had not been completed. The production team monitored the actress’s health condition and considered it carefully.
Go Hyun Jung expressed her willingness to return to the set despite her poor health, because she is the main character.
However, in the end, the producers decided that these scenes did not significantly impact the story, and Go Hyun Jung had just undergone surgery, so she would not have to film additional final scenes.

Go Hyun Jung has now been discharged from the hospital and is focusing on her recovery. On January 6, the actress posted several photos from her hospital room and shared: "I was shocked by my condition, but after a major surgery, I feel more alert now. I will be careful and take good care of myself."
"Namib" tells the story of the meeting between Kang Soo Hyun (played by Go Hyun Jung), a former star producer who was fired, and Yoo Jin Woo (played by Ryeoun), a long-time intern who was kicked out of the company, both pursuing their own goals.
The show airs every Monday and Tuesday evening, starting from December 23, 2024 on ENA. But so far, the show's ratings have not been impressive, remaining at 2%.
