According to sources in the investment and real estate banking industry on February 11, singer Jennie (Blackpink) bought a building located in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan district, Seoul (Korea) in May last year, for 20 billion won (about 357 billion VND), and completed the transfer procedures in December of the same year.
Because no separate mortgage is registered in the real estate dossier, it is likely that this is a transaction to be paid entirely in cash.
The building was initially completed in 1970, located north of Dongbinggo-dong - a famous area concentrating many embassy mansions. Currently, this place is being used as the Iraqi Embassy in Korea.
The real estate has a land area of 595m2 and a total floor area of 551.08m2, including 1 basement and 2 above-ground floors. The price of each pyeong (3.3m2) is estimated at about 111 million won.
The Dongbinggo-dong area where Jennie invested is witnessing strong development momentum, associated with the Hannam New Town redevelopment project nearby and the Yongsan Park construction plan.
Along with the land of the United Nations Command and the upcoming Camp Kim project, these are considered the three largest recovered military land areas in the region.
Meanwhile, Jennie - who is still active with both Blackpink and her solo career - is being praised for showing a "young and rich" image through bold real estate investments.
Last year, she rented a new building built in Hannam-dong as a new headquarters for her personal company Odd Atelier (OA), with monthly rents said to exceed 60 million won (about 1 billion VND).
In 2023, the female singer also bought a luxury villa in UN Village for 5 billion won (about 89 billion VND) and paid entirely in cash.
Soon, on February 27, Jennie will reappear with the group Blackpink with the mini album "Deadline" - marking the group's return to the official music race after about 3 years and 5 months.
The mini album "Deadline" includes 5 songs: pre-released song "Jump", title track "Go", along with "Me and My", "Champion" and "Fxxxboy".
YG said: "This album records unforgettable peak moments, along with the most brilliant Blackpink image at the present time".
