According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, on the streets selling Tet flowers in Thanh Hoa, the buying and selling atmosphere is somewhat gloomy, the number of people coming to buy is quite sparse compared to every year. Many people hired to transport peach and kumquat trees are also "less" in work than in previous years.

Sharing with reporters, Mr. Duan (36 years old, residing in Quang Phu ward, Thanh Hoa province) said that for many years, every time Tet Nguyen Dan approaches, he comes to the Tet flower market area on Bui Khac Nhat street, Hac Thanh ward to hire to transport peach blossoms and kumquats to earn extra income.

“If in previous years, in the days leading up to Tet, I could earn millions of VND per day, but this year it is much gloomier, the number of buyers is small, so I try very hard all day to get a few hundred thousand VND” - Mr. Duan shared.
As a long-time peach blossom trader, Mr. Ha (38 years old, residing in Quang Phu ward, Thanh Hoa province) said that this year's purchasing power is very slow. Up to this point, about 100 peach trees have been imported but less than half have been sold.

It can be said that this year's consumption is very slow, peach and kumquat prices have also decreased a lot, while rental prices have increased sharply. Even some peach trees blooming early have to cut down branches and bring roots to plant for the next year" - Mr. Ha said.

According to records at some peach and kumquat selling points, due to early blooming peach trees and branches, traders have had to throw them away and expose them on the sidewalk.
