According to Yonhap, on August 6 (local time), the MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) 2024 announced the list of nominees for this year's ceremony, including several Kpop artists.
Lisa of Blackpink is the Kpop artist with the most nominations. She received 4 different nominations for her new solo hit "Rockstar", released over a month ago, including Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, and Best Kpop Song.
Jungkook of BTS has received 2 nominations for his solo debut song "Seven" featuring Latto, including Best Collaboration and Best Kpop Song.
The nominees for the Best Kpop Song category this year, in addition to Jungkook and Lisa, include NCT Dream with "Smoothie", NewJeans with "Super Shy", Stray Kids with "LALALALA", and TXT with "Deja Vu".
Finally, LE SSERAFIM has received its first VMA nomination in its career in the category of Video of the Year for the song "Easy".
Taylor Swift is the artist with the most nominations worldwide this year with 10 categories, including the most important categories such as Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
MTV Video Music Awards is one of the four largest music awards in the US. This year's ceremony will be held at UBS Arena, New York, and will be broadcast live on September 10 at 8pm (Eastern Time, US).
