On February 2, a social media account X ( Twitter) posted a video calling male idol Kim Jiwoong (ZB1). Accordingly, the post accused the member of the Gen 4 group of speaking a curse at the end of the conversation with fans.
In response to Kim Jiwoong's move, the poster questioned: "Does he always curse after finishing a video call with a fan? I didn't know much, so I was curious about the opinions of fans.
As soon as he started calling, he sighed, only then did he see how much Kim Jiwoong hated his fans. A fan-girl who spent 500 million had to sit and talk and have such superficial attitudes and unfriendly looks. I did not make any specific requests, it was not my fault, but 100% Kim Jiwoong's fault. There is no reason, it must be because I idolised the wrong person. It's so sad."
The video with the above content received the attention of many people as soon as it was posted on social network X. In just one night, the post reached 49 thousand shares and 5.5 million views
In response to the strong public reaction, Wake One Entertainment immediately denied the curse of Kim Jiwoong.
The male idol's management company informed the media: "After verifying with the owner, we confirmed that it was not true. Staff and interpreters at the scene also confirmed that.
To verify accurately and objectively, we will use many different methods, including investigating digital media, whether it is true or not, and protecting artists. In order to prevent similar incidents from happening again, we will take strong legal action against those who spread false information and post malicious comments."
Wake One Entertainment's above move received mixed reviews on social media.
While ZB1's international fans spoke up to defend their idol and support the company, the Korean public strongly opposed and criticized Kim Jiwoong and Wake One Entertainment.
