According to Allkpop, as of September 24, NewJeans is currently ranked 3rd on the Kpop girl group rankings with the highest monthly viewership on Spotify, behind only Blackpink (31.5 million) and TWICE (26 million).
NewJeans recorded 13.5 million monthly listeners, surpassing competitors such as LE SSERAFIM (13.2 million), ILLIT (10.9 million), aespa (11.6 million), IVE (7.9 million) and i-dle (6.9 million).
Notably, NewJeans achieved this impressive achievement in the context of the group having been on hiatus for many months, due to a contract dispute with management company ADOR (under HYBE Group).
NewJeans' debut song "Attention" recently surpassed 500 million streams, becoming the group's 5th song to reach this milestone on Spotify. The group's total number of streams on Spotify has now surpassed 6.7 billion streams.
NewJeans's sustainable streaming performance, despite not having any promotional activities, has proven the group's enduring appeal in music products.
Their popularity is not limited to Spotify. On YouTube Music, NewJeans ranked 18th on the globalWeekly Artists chart (from September 5 to September 11) with 5.28 million views. While songs like "Hype Boy" and "How Sweet" are still in Melon's Top 100.

NewJeans has not released a new music product since the extended play (EP) "Supernatural", including the title track of the same name and the song "Right Now", released in June 2024.
At the end of November 2024, NewJeans held a press conference, announcing the termination of their contract with ADOR, after producer Min Hee Jin was fired from the position of CEO of ADOR and the company changed its board of directors.
5 NewJeans members have created new social media accounts and announced the temporary new group name is NJZ. But in March 2025, the court approved ADOR's request to temporarily ban NewJeans from signing advertising contracts and participating in music-related activities outside ADOR.
After the final stage at the ComplexCon music festival in Hong Kong (China) on March 23, NewJeans announced a temporary hiatus.
Despite not being present in public, NewJeans' music is still popular, which makes many people worry and regret the group's future.
An industry insider told the media: NewJeans could become the most legendary K-pop girl group if they continue to be promoted. As long as they continue to operate in any form, they can regain their position faster than expected.
Recently, 53 NewJeans fan groups issued a joint statement called Solidarity for Kpop reconciliation and development, calling on HYBE and Min Hee Jin to reconcile, so that NewJeans can continue its activities.
However, progress is still blurred. The second mediation session regarding NewJeans' exclusive contract with ADOR, held on September 11, ended after only 20 minutes without reaching an agreement.
On the same day, Min Hee Jin faced HYBE in a separate trial related to share buybacks and shareholder agreements, further highlighting the deep rift between the two sides.
The court will make a final decision on the lawsuit against ADOR and NewJeans on October 30.
If NewJeans wins the lawsuit, independent promotion can take place. But if they lose, they must decide whether to continue operating under ADOR's management, temporarily suspend operations until the contract ends, or pay the fine and leave. The amount of contract compensation is certainly not small.
