"Since the East" has gone more than half way with many different stories of the characters. In particular, the family story of Lan Anh (played by Luong Thu Trang) and Bac (played by Duy Hung) attracted the attention of the audience.
After being caught red-handed by her husband for cheating, Lan Anh decided to end her young love (played by Binh An) and moved to a place nearly 100km from her old commune. After a peaceful time, the young lover suddenly came to where Lan Anh worked and intended to threaten her.

Not only that, when Bac was planning to forgive Lan Anh so that her family could reunite, young men came to her and threatened her to go with him. In the preview of episode 31 of "Duong mat nang", Lan Anh's ex-lover went to the row of rooms to meet her. Although Lan Anh was granted her decision, the young man threatened: " Or let me meet your husband to talk privateally".
This threat forced Lan Anh to listen and get married to her ex. Unfortunately, Bac stood behind the door and witnessed everything. The lack of love in the past made the chance of Lan Anh and Bac's recovery even more fragile.
This character also confused the audience when he was described as a rich man who tried every way to just stick with a married spa employee. The difference in appearance between actors Luong Thu Trang and Binh An also made the audience even more confused about this relationship.
In real life, Binh An was born in 1993, 3 years younger than actress Luong Thu Trang. This is not the first time Binh An has had a role that has upset audiences in prime-time films. Previously, in "HappyGarage", Binh An played the role of Quan - a young man paired with female director Cam Khe (Diem Huong) while still dating Son Ca (Quynh Kool).
In the movie "Girls in the City", Binh An plays Tung - a poor guy who is paired with a tycoon Xuan (Ngoc Crystal Eyes).
