In a recent interview with Korea Joongang Daily, Park Bo Young shared that she felt strongly drawn to the script for the movie "Our Unwritten Seoul".
So much so that the actress proactively expressed her desire to participate in the project, even before the producer and tvN confirmed the cast and production plan.
This is a move that Park Bo Young rarely makes in the process of deciding on the next project.
She said that the close and sympathetic plot of the script is the main attraction of the film.
"For the first time in my life, I was so hungry for a project that even if it wasn't mine, I still thought it was mine. I really don't want to miss this drama.
When I first received the script, there was still no decision made, both from the TV station and the producer. But I felt that this script was something I couldn't let anyone else own," Park Bo Young confessed.
Actor Park Ji Young, who co-starred with Park Bo Young in the drama, also agreed that A Seoul unknown has an impressive script.
"At first, when I read the script, it brought me a lot of comfort. At that time, I only received the script for episode 6, but the character Ho Su (played by Park Ji Young) kept circulating in my mind, the actor said.
A Seoul unknown is directed by Park Shin Woo, who is behind the hit film Its Okay to Not Be Okay (2020) and written by Lee Kang, author of Youth of May (2021).
The story is about two twin sisters, in addition to having identical faces, they are completely opposite in personality and life. When they decide to exchange their lives through a lie, they begin a journey to discover themselves, love and personal growth.

The film ended with a rating of 8.4%, considered a good result for the work broadcast on cable television. The film also entered the Top 10 of Netflix's most popular non-English TV shows for 5 consecutive weeks.
In A Seoul unknown, Park Bo Young plays both characters as twin sisters Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae. For the actress, playing two roles like that is not uncommon, as she experienced a similar challenge in the 2015 film "Oh My Ghost".
However, Park Bo Young admitted that the experience of playing two roles in this work was especially difficult.
With Our Unwritten Seoul, before I started filming, I wondered why I believed I could do this, and I was really scared.
In my head, I can visualize everything clearly and calculate how it will go, but the actual outcome is often not the same as what I imagine. At times like that, to be honest, I just want to run away, the actress said about the filming process.
According to Park Bo Young, she portrayed the two characters based on experiences drawn from her own life and work.
Close friends and family thought that Park Bo Young looked more like Mi Rae. But those who only see her through work say she looks like Mi Ji.
After the film ended, many viewers commented that Park Bo Young's impressive performance in the film deserved to be nominated for Best Actress at major film awards.
