Director Jang Jae Hyun once mentioned this project in interviews with foreign media. We are in the early stages of developing an original Korean story revolving aroundongong. The project is inspired by the classic novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. I want to make aongong horror film set in the Russian Communist Church.
He also said that the script completion process will take about 2 years, and the film will be released after about 4 years. Vampire is expected to start filming in the second half of next year.

However, after the news spread, Yoo Ah In's management company UAA said: "There is currently no decision made regarding his participation in the film "Vampire".
Yoo Ah In was charged with 4 banned drugs - including propofol, midazolam, ketamine and remimazolam - a total of 181 times between September 2020 and March 2022.
